the template consists of 4 rows and 3 columbs. png with the name of $bob or something but make sure the $ is the first letter. when saving the character, make sure that it is only a spriteset of 1 character facing 4 directions with no extra space. i draw my sprites on paper, scan them, then use photoshop to resize/add transparancy. you just need to use the base template for the sprites.
